Let it Snow!

Portland was covered in snow for a week!



When the weather forecast warned us about the snow storm... here at Portland... I thought they were over-exaggerating. On Tuesday evening, I left work without thinking.

I woke up in the middle of the night. By the time I looked out the window, there was approximately 5 inches of snow!

And it sure didn't look like it was going to stop.

In the morning, we had about a foot of snow! I got up all excited to go out. Haha. 

Yes, I'm still young and loving snow ☃.

I was surprised to see that the buses and the Max were running.

I made it to the office!






Our office rarely closes, but we did close on Wednesday. It didn't matter to me because I still came in. I thought I'd be the only one, but another associate came. She and I enjoyed working in the empty office. We worked a little, talked for a half an hour, and looked out the window most of the time. 😅

Because the temperature stayed below the freezing point for the next few days, many people were out of the office. 
It was a slow week.

It seems like my busy season will start next week with 60 hours of client work scheduled.
Looking forward to it 😂😂😂.

On Friday, I went out to look for succulents 🌵. I found Hammer + Vine on Yelp and checked it out.


It was a cute little place. 😻


Everything is SO cute. I want them all. Haha.


I picked out a small plant for a gift.
I'm coming back to get something for myself next time!
(Ahem... my birthday is coming soon 😉😉.)

This year, my birthday will be very special. I'll be celebrating (more like working...) at the office!!! And it will be the first birthday without my family 😢.
That's okay, I'll be fine. 



On Saturday, I went into the office to help my co-worker.

I caught a sunrise!


Afterwards, we went to Mother's Bistro for breakfast.

On Saturday, I went to go watch La La Land with the associates. I think I can call them friends now. 😁

I recommend the movie!

On Sunday, we finally made it to church! It was good seeing the church family. It was a fun day. After service and lunch, we played boardgames and had a birthday party. 🎉

So far, it still is a slow week. But that's okay because I need time to study.

It has finally warmed up and started raining. I'd hate to be out in this weather and I'm missing the snow.

11.13.16 ~ 11.20.16 Weeks are going by REALLY fast! It's close to Thanksgiving and Christmas 😄. My work has been treating me well. As of now, I actually enjoy work because they are doable but challenging enough. I learn something new every day. I am less intimidated when I'm given a project. Frosty Chicago

12/10/16 - 12/12/16 Saturday morning, I went from PDX to PHX. My final destination was ORD. My flight at PHX got cancelled... 😲😲😲 My Chicago families were waiting for me. I started panicking because it was my grandma's birthday and I didn't want to miss the birthday party.  The American Airlines customer service lady didn't know what she was doing... took forever to rebook my flight to the next available one. After 30 minutes and asking two of her co-workers she finally had me on standby for the next flight. Standby doesn't guarantee anything... I started asking God to help me get on the flight. They started calling the people on standby. 33 people were all waiting desperately. I was listed as the 8th person. THANK GOD. They called my name and I was the last one.  Bye Pheonix. Things to do in Portland

4-6-17 Hello! Last weekend, my family came to visit me in Portland. First of all, Portland's a beautiful city. It's small, but there's plenty of things to do. We went to the waterfront to see the cherry blossoms. 💐 Then we went to the Saturday Market. I was feeling adventurous and wanted to try African food. Hmmm.... Hmmm... I got a plate full of seasoned chicken, chili beans, yellowish vegetables and mysterious dressing on a flat bread that tasted like a thick crepe. I liked everything except the flat bread but it's worth the try! 😉 * * * Portland's well-known for its food trucks. (This is purely my opinion that has no scientific evidence. I think food trucks are amazing.) There's food trucks all over the city. This place we ended up going to had food trucks surrounding a whole block. I'd love to try all of them.
