Things to do in Portland

4-6-17

Hello!
Last weekend, my family came to visit me in Portland.

First of all, Portland's a beautiful city. It's small, but there's plenty of things to do.

We went to the waterfront to see the cherry blossoms. 💐

Then we went to the Saturday Market. I was feeling adventurous and wanted to try African food.

Hmmm....

Hmmm... I got a plate full of seasoned chicken, chili beans, yellowish vegetables and mysterious dressing on a flat bread that tasted like a thick crepe. I liked everything except the flat bread but it's worth the try! 😉

Portland's well-known for its food trucks. (This is purely my opinion that has no scientific evidence. I think food trucks are amazing.)

There's food trucks all over the city. This place we ended up going to had food trucks surrounding a whole block. I'd love to try all of them.

I tried The Frying Scotsman because it had a good review on Yelp. And, Yelppers were right. Their fish cods were delicious!

After the Saturday Market, our next stop was the Chinese garden.

It's SO beautiful.

This place reminds me of my trip to Korea 6 years ago. We visited the Korean palaces that were full of deep history and art.

The beauty of the Chinese garden is that it has so much details.

Oohh~ Two more things Portland's known for... donuts + coffee!

We went to Blue ☆.

They are expensive donuts but really good.

This is Barista coffee shop.

I got the hazelnut latte. Yummy.
I'd have to say this is my favorite coffee place as of now.

Then, we stopped by at Powell's Bookstore.

My sister got excited and picked out several books... And I got a board game. 😊

On Friday night (before exploring Portland), I took my family out for dinner at Fogo De Chao.

I had a great time with my family. They enjoyed the meal.

But, let me say this Fogo. It's not worth the price. One, the food was average. The salad bar was fantastic. The meat was ehh... We went in for the Portland Dining Month so we were limited on the meat selection. However overall it was an average tasting food. Two, customer service was average. Actually, it was below my expectations. Sorry, not recommending to my friends. Fogo, if you want the details of my feedback, I'd love to share. 📱

Anyways, my family enjoyed it and that's all what it matters.

On Sunday, I went to OMSI to check out the Lego art exhibition.

<First Sunday of every month, the admission fee is discounted.>

This was amazing. It is fascinating how small blocks can turn into a cool art.

Today, I went to the Portland Art Museum.

<First Thursday of every month from 5pm to 8pm, it is free admission.>

I went 30 minutes before closing so I definitely need to visit again.

Lastly, this is my little trophy after working 80 hours one week.

Haha. Thank you very much. One is all I need. :)
