Angela's in San Diego!!

I'm in San Diego for training. If you didn't know, 3 weeks ago, I started working for an accounting firm (Big 4) as a tax associate. All the new hires across the country are here for training.

I take pictures when I have time and they're definitely outside of training. So, it may seem as if I am on my vacation, but no, I'm NOT (I wish I was). We work from 8am-6pm and sometimes longer if we have assignments.

Last Sunday, when I arrived at SAN, a gentleman who was fully dressed up and holding a sign with my name on it was patiently waiting for me (flight was delayed for 15 min). He pulled over his BMW and kindly opened the door for me. I'm being spoiled!

This is the hotel (Marriott Marquis) we are staying at for 2 weeks.

Here's my room. We are assigned a roommate. Luckily, she is very friendly; also a Korean.

One of my prayers was to meet good people and be able to fit in. Both were answered! I've met people from Boston (roommate and her office people), Houston, San Francisco and Birmingham. There was only 2 people (including myself) from my office. So, I had to network and meet new people.

From Day 1 to Day 5, we've been having our trainings from 8am to 6pm (plus 2 hours for assignments). We sat in a conference room with our table group. There was a mix of lecture, exercises, assignments, games and presentation. I know this may not be interesting but topics included permanent and temporary differences, fixed assets depreciation and gain/loss on sale, DRD, NOL, AMT, ACE, state taxes, provision, and pass-through entities. After getting down the concepts, we worked with the software to get to the taxable income.
Everyday was a long day.

Food from the training.👍👍 At least they fed us really well.

After the training, I'd find few people to go have dinner with.

Los Panchos - 🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐
(Low quality ingredients and nothing special about it.)

Seasons 52 - 🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐
(Was good but not worth the price.)
(Wine was delicious!)

Fish Market - 🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐
(Would love to try different dish.)

Davanti Enoteca - 🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐
(DELICIOUS!)

Pappalecco - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
SOOOOO good!

On Saturday, we had our training until 1pm. So afterwards, we went to the Coronado Island and the Old Town. Love exploring cities.

Cafe Coyote - 🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐
(Decent but wasn't too special.)

Coronado Island.😍

By the hotel.

Oh by the way, first morning in San Diego, I battled with this monster (bed bug). Marriott...😣

After reporting, we got a different room. I thought it was going to be a suite but it was a same standard room but at least it had a better view. I really hope that I don't take any with me to my new apartment...

I still have another week of training in San Diego. Looking forward to learning more.

Sorry that today's blog seem disconnected and choppy. I am just so tired 😫😪😱.
