Shhh... This is very personal.

1-19-2017 ~ 1-27-2017 Last Friday, I got an upset stomach after eating unrefrigerated food for lunch. I rarely get sick and don't like taking medicine. So instead, I had wine πŸ˜‹. * * * On Saturday, my date took me out for brunch at Brix. We had bottomless mimosa 🍾. Then, we went to the ChocolateFest. Chocolate is my favorite "candy" (yes.. I said candy). There was about 90 booths and most of them were giving out samples. I've never had that much chocolate in a day. Hehe. 🍫🍫🍫   We had more drinks. Hmmm..This week's blog involves a lot more alcohol. BUT, this is unusual. People who know me, you know that I don't drink much πŸ˜…. Anyways, we learned about the chocolate making process. It starts out with cacao pod. I tried the white stuff inside it that looks like intestines. It was interesting... After spending 4~5 hours at the festival, we went to eat at a Thai restaurant. Forgot the name of the place... but it was really good! ...

And a Happy New Year~~~🎡

☆ HAPPY NEW YEAR~ ☆ 12-30-16 ~ 1-9-2017 It snowed in Portland on Saturday and Sunday. The roads and sidewalks were icy. Most people stay home during the snow days but I like to be out and be adventurous. ⛄❄☃❄⛄❄ This is when it started snowing on Saturday.   Then... this is what it looked like on Sunday. I almost fell walking on the icy sidewalk.  So I walked in the middle of the road where it was slushy (less slippery). My church service got cancelled so I decided to walk to a church nearby. I was surprised to see that a church was open. I guess it makes sense because it was a [very] traditional church. Still glad there was a service to attend. Could probably ice skate here. * * * Since it's a new year, I made a list of prayer requests. Surprisingly (and thankfully), God answers my prayers I write down each year. πŸ™ 2017 Prayer Requests 1. Pass all my CPA exams by October 2017 μ‹œν—˜ νŒ¨μŠ€ν•˜κΈ° 2. Angela's in San Diego!!

I'm in San Diego for training. If you didn't know, 3 weeks ago, I started working for an accounting firm (Big 4) as a tax associate. All the new hires across the country are here for training.  I take pictures when I have time and they're definitely outside of training. So, it may seem as if I am on my vacation, but no, I'm NOT (I wish I was). We work from 8am-6pm and sometimes longer if we have assignments. Last Sunday, when I arrived at SAN, a gentleman who was fully dressed up and holding a sign with my name on it was patiently waiting for me (flight was delayed for 15 min). He pulled over his BMW and kindly opened the door for me. I'm being spoiled! This is the hotel (Marriott Marquis) we are staying at for 2 weeks. Here's my room. We are assigned a roommate. Luckily, she is very friendly; also a Korean. One of my prayers was to meet good people and be able to fit in. Both were answered! I've met people from B...

First Week in Portland

Image
Amazing view of the city from the office😍. Home-cooked meal. Korean spicy noodle (bibim myun) with side dishes all in a bowl. Fish, baby carrots, spaghetti and rice. (Yes, I eat a lot.) Plain spaghetti. LA Kalbi Sweet and spicy chicken. Waiting for the bus. Getting a taste of the city. On Monday, the 10th, I started my full-time job with the accounting firm located in Portland downtown. So I 've been getting up at around 5:45am every morning and got to work by 7:45am. I live in downtown but I need a lot of time to get ready... and I never skip breakfast.  My first day at work was full day orientation. There was 8 new hires. The HR manager introduced us to the firm. We had lunch with the transitional coach who helps us adjust to the office. I asked her many questions which she kindly answered. We also received our laptop and had the system set up. Then, we were on our own to work through the "newcomer checklist" that has a list of ta...
